Natural Ways To Get Rid Of Mold And Mildew:
1. Tea Tree Oil:
A tea tree oil spray might sound expensive at first, but believe us there cannot be a better solution than this to clear out mold and mildew. The oil is extremely strong that only a few drops is sufficient to make the spray. Mix two teaspoons of tea tree oil with two cups of water and transfer the solution to a spray bottle. Shake well and spray over problem areas. Scrub the surface a little and see how the fungus disappears on repeated use.
Vinegar is the most versatile ingredient in the kitchen and is an all-natural cleaner that helps kill mold and mildew too. It is believed that plain white vinegar can destroy almost 80% of mold, bacteria as well as viruses. Simply spray vinegar straight on the fungal infested areas. Leave it for sometime so that vinegar will dissolve the fungus and then clean the area using a sponge. With effects similar to that of tea tree oil in eliminating mold and mildew, grapefruit seed extract is one of the most preferred solutions indoors for its odorless and deodorizing properties. Mix 20 drops of the extract in two cups water and spray it on the affected areas. Let it sit and do not wipe or rinse for better results.
5. Remove Moisture:
Mold and mildew grow in wet environment, for example, damp, humid areas in kitchen and bathroom create a favorable habitation for the fungi to flourish.
